Tahoe shore, Nevada
The top of the tallest rock is between 20 and 21 feet above the water's height and the high water mark is about 8 feet above it. The rocks are bigger than they look. There was a mild thunderstorm overhead. I was very pleased to be able to make both great B&W and color versions of this scene, which is unusual. I've always loved Ansel's Thundercloud, Lake Tahoe, so it was especially gratifying to make a picture that I like even better.
