The starry pond, Acadia National Park, Maine
I used to like this one best when I blurred my eyes, and wondered if it might be better to print it that way. I came upon this wonderful, inverted firmament of leaves in one of my favorite spots. I'm hoping very much to visit it again during one of the increasingly rare autumns with good color in New England. Our profligate uses of fossil fuels have already done extreme damage to New England's weather and largely wiped out the spectacular shows which have long been one of the best features of the United States.
